What is a Remote Online Notarization (RON)?

A remote online notarization is performed just like an in person notarization but utilizes audio and video technologies. The Notary and Signer do not need to be in the same room to complete the notarization.

Are remote online notarizations legal?

Yes! Remote notarizations are legal and can be accepted by all agencies. Agencies may not accept an electronic notarization so you may want to ask before completing this type of notarization. Electronic Signatures have been accepted in California since the year 2000. Notaries in the State of California can't perform remote notarizations but network with notaries across the country that can perform these types of notarizations.

What is a Remote Ink Notarization (RIN)?

Remote ink notarization is when you sign your document and then mail the document to the notary. The notary gets on a Zoom call to complete the notarization.
