Terms of Service

Effective date: August 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ACME LIVE SCAN & NOTARY website, booking tools, ChatGPT/MCP integration, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About ACME

ACME LIVE SCAN & NOTARY provides notary, fingerprinting, apostille/authentication consultation, and related appointment-based services. Specific services, pricing, availability, service areas, and requirements may vary.

2. Eligibility and Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when requesting or booking a service, including your name, contact information, appointment details, and service address when required. You may not use the Service to impersonate another person, submit fraudulent requests, or interfere with the Service.

3. ChatGPT and MCP Integration

ACME may make booking and availability functionality available through ChatGPT or another Model Context Protocol ("MCP") compatible service. The integration may allow you to review supported ACME services, check real-time availability, review booking requirements, and request an appointment reservation.

You are responsible for reviewing the information presented before authorizing a reservation. A reservation is not created until you expressly authorize the booking and the ACME system reports that it has been reserved or confirmed.

ChatGPT and other third-party platforms are separate services operated by third parties. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply to your use of those services.

4. Appointment Availability

Appointment availability is dynamic and may change at any time. A time shown as available is not guaranteed until the ACME system successfully creates a reservation. ACME may enforce minimum lead times, buffers, service areas, scheduling rules, and other operational limits.

5. Mobile Appointments

Mobile services require a valid service address. ACME may decline, modify, or contact you regarding a mobile appointment if the address is incomplete, outside the service area, unsafe, inaccessible, or otherwise impractical for the requested service.

6. Payment-Required Reservations

Some services require a deposit or other payment. If payment is required, the ACME system may create the appointment as "New," "Unpaid," "Reserved," or a similar temporary status and provide a secure payment link.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, an unpaid reservation may be held for approximately 30 minutes. If required payment is not completed within the applicable hold period, ACME may cancel the reservation and release the appointment time to another customer.

Payment-card information should be entered only through the secure payment page provided for the transaction. Do not send payment-card information through ChatGPT, appointment notes, text messages, or other general booking fields.

7. Fees and Pricing

Prices displayed or quoted through the Service may be starting prices or estimates unless expressly identified as a final price. Final pricing may depend on the service, location, document type, number of signers or applicants, travel, government or courier fees, shipping, translation, urgency, or other case-specific requirements.

You are responsible for reviewing and accepting any applicable charges before completing payment or receiving the service.

8. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

Cancellation, rescheduling, refund, and no-show rules may vary by service and may be provided during booking, in appointment communications, or on the applicable payment page. Unless a different policy is provided for a specific service, please contact ACME as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

A temporary unpaid reservation may be automatically canceled if payment is not completed within the stated hold period.

9. Notary Services

ACME and its notaries do not choose a notarial act for a signer and do not provide legal advice unless the person providing the advice is separately authorized to do so. The signer, document recipient, attorney, title company, government agency, or other appropriate party is responsible for determining what notarial act or document requirement is needed.

A notary may refuse or discontinue a notarization where required or permitted by law, including when identity, willingness, awareness, document completeness, or other legal requirements are not satisfied.

10. Fingerprinting and Government Processing

Processing times, acceptance, background-check results, agency decisions, and other actions controlled by government agencies or third parties are outside ACME's direct control. ACME does not guarantee a particular government result or processing time unless expressly stated in writing.

11. Apostille, Authentication, and Legalization Services

Government and embassy requirements can change and may vary by jurisdiction, document type, destination country, and document condition. ACME may require document review before providing a final quote or accepting an order. Government, courier, translation, shipping, and legalization timelines may be outside ACME's direct control.

12. Communications

By providing your phone number or email address in connection with a booking, you authorize ACME to send transactional communications related to your request, including confirmations, reminders, payment instructions, changes, and service updates. Message and data rates may apply to SMS messages.

13. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

14. Third-Party Services

ACME uses third-party services for functions such as authentication, scheduling, customer relationship management, communications, payment processing, hosting, and ChatGPT integration. ACME is not responsible for the independent operation of third-party platforms, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

15. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. ACME does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every requested appointment time will remain available.

Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice. Information provided through the Service is general operational information and should not be relied upon as legal, tax, immigration, or other professional advice.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ACME will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Any limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

17. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ACME from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service or your material violation of these Terms.

18. Changes to the Service or Terms

ACME may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
